Welcoming Ministry: Our Lady of Grace is a friendly welcoming community with a reputation for hospitality and openness. Homeless Ministry: Jesus reminds us that what we do for the least of our brothers we do for him. The Homeless Ministry’s goal is follow Jesus with outreach and assistance to the homeless. Daughter of the Holy Spirit Associates: Associates are lay persons who feel at home with the Daughters of the Holy Spirit. They sense a call to be available to the Spirit’s mission of love and life, and to devote themselves to the poor, the disadvantaged and the oppressed. Extraordinary Ministers: Special ministers of the Eucharist should be people of prayer who have a special love for the Eucharist. They assist in distributing Communion at Masses and bringing the Eucharist (the Body of Christ) to the sick and homebound as needed. Music Ministry: Do you enjoy singing or playing music in adoration of our Lord. The Music Ministry’s purpose is to enhance our liturgies through prayerful singing. Greeters/Ushers: A warm smile and word of welcome that reflects God’s love can help all worshipers enter more easily and more fully into the celebration of the liturgy. This important ministry shows parishioners to seats, gathers the Sunday collection, arranges for the presentation of the gifts, and distributes parish bulletins after Mass. Lectors: Do you desire to share God’s word with others? Consider proclaiming the “Word” at Mass. Interested parishioners are needed to proclaim readings at daily and Sunday liturgies. Please email Jim Martone.
Altar Servers: The primary role of the altar server is to assist the priest in the celebration of the liturgy during Mass. This is done through specific actions and by setting an example to the congregation by active participation in the liturgy (hymns, responses, etc.). Those wishing to participate in this important ministry should email Jennifer Southard.
Catechists: Through word and example, catechists teach the Catholic faith and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to adults, youth, and children in programs such as CFF and RCIA. Women’s Council: Organized in 1956 and affiliated with the Diocese Council of Catholic Women. The OLG Women’s Council raises funds for scholarships to graduating 8th grade students, decorates the church during holidays, provides bereavement services to parishioners for funerals, and supports the altar needs of Our Lady of Grace Church. Respect Life Ministry: To respect life means to honor life as sacred from the moment of conception until natural death. Our ministry prays to end abortion, provides assistance to expectant mothers in crisis pregnancies, provide visits of friendship to the elderly, the ill and the lonely. Finance Committee: The Finance Committee is a consultative body that assists the Pastor in his duties of administering the temporal goods of his parish and assures that the parish’s temporal resources are properly maintained and utilized. In fulfilling its responsibilities the Parish Finance Committee must be directed by the values of the Gospel, as well as by good business practices. Efficient and effective use and management of parish resources must be measured as much by their
contribution to the parish mission and ministry as by commonly accepted
